CONGRATULATIONS on your 1,100 Consecutive Days. Best wishes as you go forward! Warren

Not so sure about your post that gas is more expensive today than 10 years ago. On 3/21/2006 I paid $19.00 for 7.6 gals, or $2.50 a gallon. Adjusted for inflation since then, that $2.50 would be $2.94 in todays dollars. But last Sunday I paid $1.75 at Sam's. I'll take today's price. Both prices were purchased in or around the Sugar Land TX area.

I saw your comment on the article about left lane parade makers. In Fla., they wouldn't be ticketed, but in Germany, they would. My position is that unless one is passing someone, they need to get over. If someone wants to go faster, they will. Clogging the fast lane only increases the danger and the clogger (parade maker) is then part of the problem. The speeder may be wrong, too, but it's law enforcement's job to catch them.

To answer your question.....the taxes on oil and on a gallon of gasoline have not been reduced by the government. If the state tax was 20c/gal when gas was $4/gal, it's still 20c/gal today.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Your comment on oil tankers and government. Remember they are bureaucrats and for job security they MUST make regulations whether or not they actually make sense. We need to trim out "out of control" government agencies. That's why I am a Libertarian! Yet, Rand Paul has little chance to win this election. Your boy Cruz may get an opportunity. I would love to see a Cruz/Trump ticket in any order but it will never happen. Happy New Year!
